Corinne Wightlin

Trainer

Corie has been in the education field for 18 years. After graduating from Occidental College with a degree in Cognitive Science, she began her career in Chicago as an Inclusion Coordinator in the Special Education department at Kenilworth School. After moving to San Diego, Corie spent 5 years working for the Chula Vista Elementary School District, teaching many elementary school grades. At CVESD, she served as an ILT member and as a representative to The Ball Foundation. After CVESD, Corie taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in La Jolla, California. There, Corie served as department chair for 3 years, implemented and supported teachers in many curriculum adoptions, sat on a variety of hiring committees, was part of the master planning committee, and won two different school-wide awards for innovation and curriculum development. Corie earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Literacy Development from University of San Diego. She lives in San Diego with her family.
